I found true meaning and happiness after I had changed my habits through meditation. It seems that I had such a bad habit when I look back on myself. It says that all human sins started to be built with the mind of possession to have. People do not live with gratitude for the world as it is. And humans continue to possess something out of feelings of lacking. Humans take pictures and eat illusory images inside their minds by the habit of possession. The more things we want to possess in our minds, the more we take pictures of them and eat them in our minds. With greedy minds, humans dream false dreams and do things in vain.
For example, when looking back on myself, I was obsessed with the urge to have a good car. I spent time searching for information regarding automobiles even though I didn’t have enough money to buy them.
Also, I was once addicted to shopping. Even though I already had enough clothes, I kept wandering online and offline shopping malls to search for better and different types of clothes. I wasted a lot of time and energy.
In addition to it, I wanted to have a good cell phone and was often obsessed with the urge to have a new phone. So, I often watched YouTube videos or went around online shopping malls to search for information.
But the funny thing was that I kept shopping even though I didn’t have enough money to buy them anyway. Isn’t it unrealistic and ridiculous to feel frustrated and unhappy by being obsessed with something when you don’t have the money to buy it? But at that time, I thought I would be happy If I only had them. How silly I was!
These were just some of my experiences of living as a slave to the mind of possession in the past. And as time went by, I just became greedier. There is a saying, “Sins Committed In The Mind Are Sins.” Now that I think about it, It just made my sins bigger. As a result, I suffered and felt miserable because of this kind of mindset and lifestyle. I wanted to change myself. So, I deeply pondered what truly makes me happy and how to make my life meaningful through meditation practice.
Now, I afford to buy things I wanted to have in the past. However, when I knew how to spend money meaningfully and what actions truly bring me true happiness, I don’t spend money in vain for such a purpose. Now when I look back on my life, I realize how much I was interested in useless things in the past and lived wasting time and money. It was harmful to have feelings of lack, unhappiness, and stress because of futile desires and actions.
I feel how much more meaningfully I could have lived my life if I had learned what brings me true happiness a little earlier.
Therefore, wise people say that we can live a more blissful and abundant life if we focus on the happiness and joy of what exists and are grateful for what we have already rather than finding meaning in our possession. A well-known Buddhist monk, ‘Beopjeong,’ talked about the life of nonpossession. And Erich Fromm said that we could find true happiness when we change from a possession-oriented life to an existence-oriented life. In Christianity, they say that ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ Even though the expressions are different, in my opinion, they tried to say the same concept.
We need to know ‘what to be’ is, in other words, ‘what to exist’ is. We may think that what is visible and touchable exists, but it is the fact that what we believe exists in this world doesn’t exist. It is the hallucination that our mind is making within our minds. In Quantum Mechanics, even scientists talk about these things.
To know what exists, we must become the mind of the Truth that exists. Then we can realize that what exists is only the Truth and the land of Truth that we have within our mind. We need to see from an elevated dimension after throwing away our false minds. Only after we have the Truth beyond our human conception about what exists and what doesn’t exist, we can live in the land of Truth with satisfaction and abundance without lacking inside. The problems such as poverty and hardships will be resolved in the long run when humans find the Truth and the land of Truth within themselves. We have tried to solve the problem from the outside so far. However, nowadays already people started to know the principles of the world. They are already trying to look for ways to make revolutionary changes within themselves.
I was able to get rid of the false habits through meditation. A lot of habits disappeared. And people around me say that even my physical appearance changed.
We need to change our habits from living in our false minds to living with the true mind. So, then our false habits are gradually eliminated. If we use our bodies honestly with a righteous mind, Our false habits disappear tremendously. And our minds will brighten up. So then you can know the ways of the world through wisdom.
Now I am so happy because I can control my mind. I have become liberated from my false mind. I wish you all could live a happy life after eliminating your false minds and habits.
