Understanding others and getting to know each other may take time. You have to be patient with your people and keep your heart open.

I have two boys. They’re both naughty. They’re kids who don’t do well in school and get injured playing pranks. Particularly, the second has an intellectual disability, so it’s hard to get along with people.

Four years ago, my sons went to a student camp. For a week, they lived with their teachers and peers. It’s like boy scouts.

I volunteered to live with my sons in the camp because I was worried about them. My judgment was that it would be difficult for my kids, who grew up with Mom and Dad’s attention and love, to live with so many people.

My sons were lucky to have teachers who truly cared about them at that camp.

When the eldest son fought with his friends, his teacher helped him solve the problem through conversation.

When my second one cried while sleeping, the teacher stepped in to take care of him. Everyone was like a benefactor to me.

The teachers at the campground, however, did not make a good first impression on me.

My first impression of my eldest son’s teacher was that she was talkative and over-interfering.

Despite being warm like a mother, the teacher in charge of the second son is short, and much older than me, and I judged that she didn’t have the virtues a teacher should have.

After a few years, I realized the teacher’s true value and this negative view changed. Strangely enough, I happened to meet two teachers in the neighborhood last week. Still, the talkative teacher chattered away. However, her eyes were kind and she was curious about my son’s news. The short teacher expressed her longing for my second kid as soon as she saw me.

It wasn’t until then that I found out. I’m not the only one working hard and paying attention to my two sons, but a lot of people are sincere too. He’s doing really well in middle school, despite having an intellectual disability that made it hard for him to have a social life. After eating delicious food, my eldest son praised and thanked me for saying it was delicious. He enjoys school life with his friends.

Thank you all for taking care of me and my family. I’d like to thank the countless people who work behind the scenes.
